28 March 2022, the republic of Zambia has scraped a Negative PCR test to enter the country for those travelers who are fully vaccinated.
VISAS
- It should be noted the current visa regime in Zambia remains in place.
- Importantly, nationals who do not require visas in advance can still purchase visas on arrival.
- Those nationals who require visas in advance are still required to apply at least 30-working days before visiting Zambia.
VISITORS
- All travelers coming into Zambia using ground crossings and airports will be required to provide a negative-result SARS CoV2 PCR test certificate from the country of departure conducted within the previous 72-hours.
- They shall monitor themselves daily for 7-days for the development of COVID-19 symptoms and report any occurrence to the nearest health facility.
- Visitors arriving in Zambia without a negative SARS CoV2 PCR test certificate conducted within
the previous 72-hours will not be allowed into the country.
PROCEDURES AT AIRPORTS and BORDER POSTS
- Traveler Health Questionnaires will be provided to all airlines entering Zambia who will make them available to on-board passengers for completion before disembarkation. These are to be surrendered to health staff on the ground at the airport.
- Visitors arriving at land borders will also be required to complete a Health
Questionnaire.
- Symptomatic travellers and tourists displaying any of the below listed symptoms will be tested
for SARS Cov-2 on arrival:
- Body temperatures equal to or above 38 degrees Celsius
- Fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, sore throat, headache or loss of taste and/or smell
- After swabbing, travelers will be quarantined in a facility designated by the Ministry of Health until their results are ready.
- Travelers who test positive will be managed according to the National Case
Management Guidelines as carried out by District Health Offices.
- Symptomatic travelers who test negative will be released from quarantine and advised to seek medical care.
- Any traveler presenting a negative certificate may be selected randomly by Health Authorities and tested for SARS Cov-2 on arrival
TESTING CHILDREN
- Children under the age of 5 do not require COVID-negative certificates to enter Zambia.
- Children from the age of 5 upwards who require COVID-negative certificates to depart can be tested in Zambia
