Please note that information is ever changing around the pandemic. Ntanda Ventures Ltd recommends using the below as a guide but to contact us close to travel times so we can verify. For PCR tests, our team on the ground will be able to assist fully with regards to logistics and timings to align with guests’ itinerary as well as airline or destination requirements.
ZAMBIA: The international airports are open. All travellers require a negative PCR test conducted within 72 hours of departure from country of origin and need to adhere to recommended Covid-19 prevention measures. Africa CDC’s Trusted Travel (TT) framework – it is mandatory for all travellers to have their PCR results verified through this framework and require a Travel Code (TC) in order to depart or arrive into the country. Test requirements for transit and destination countries can be verified on https://trustedtravel.panabios.org/trusted-testing/signup/ or www.africacdc.org/trusted-travel . The detailed information on how to attain the Travel Code is available here.
All arrivals will need to monitor themselves for symptoms of the virus and report any occurrence to the nearest health facility. • All arrivals showing symptoms of Covid-19 will be retested for Covid-19 on arrival or within 48hrs, at their own cost, regardless of having a negative PCR test certificate.
Vaccination – Not a requirement to enter the country. Arrivals without a negative test will not be allowed in the country. Note: Children under 5 are exempt from PCR test requirement for arriving into Zambia. PCR Testing: can be done in Livingstone and Lusaka with 24-48hr turnaround time. Cost is between US$100 and US$150 pp depending on the turnaround times required. A government issued MOH Travel Certificate is also necessary for all departures from Zambia – this is issued after the PCR results. Positive PCR result within the country will require 14-day quarantine (hospital or self isolation center-listed hotels) as identified by the Department of Health. Flights – a number of airlines have been flying into both Lusaka and Livingstone, we recommend checking at the time of booking which ones are available.
